¶ Media Library
As a publisher user on our platform, you have the capability to easily upload and manage different types of media resources, such as images, audios, videos, and more. This feature allows you to create engaging and interactive content for your audience, enhancing the overall user experience.
To ensure efficient and reliable storage and delivery of these media resources, we have partnered with Cloudinary, a leading cloud-based media management platform. All media resources uploaded by publishers are hosted on Cloudinary servers, providing fast and secure access to your content.
In our database, each media object is associated with a field that contains the path to the corresponding media resource on the Cloudinary server. This makes it easy for our system to retrieve and display the media content to the users in real-time, without any delay or buffering.
By utilising our powerful media management system, you can seamlessly incorporate a variety of media resources into your content, making it more engaging and informative for your audience.
The Media Library section provides users with options to manage their media files. It includes the following features:
- Images: Users can view and manage image files in this section.
- Sounds: Users can view and manage sound files in this section.
- Videos: Users can view and manage video files in this section.
- Files: Users can view and manage other types of files in this section.
- New: Users can add new media files to the library.
- Delete: Users can delete media files from the library.
- Search: Users can search for specific media files using keywords.
- Name: Users can enter a name or caption for the media asset that will be used in the application.
- Description: Users can enter a longer description of the media asset.
- Author: Users can acknowledge the source of the published media asset by entering a note or name.
- Save: Users can save changes made to the media asset details.
- Upload: Users can upload a media file from their device or other sources such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or Unsplash.
- AI Assistant (Super Admins): Super Admins have the option to generate media content using an AI Assistant.
¶ MEDIA UPLOAD (CLOUDINARY)
When using Cloudinary as our media-management system, it is important for users to be mindful of uploading files with distinct names. Cloudinary has the capability to serve various file types, including images, videos, audio, text, and documents.
If users upload multiple files with the same name, the most recent upload will overwrite the previous one in Cloudinary. This means that if a user assigns a media file to a specific point, such as an audio file in Norwegian, and accidentally uploads a new media file with the same name, but in English, the system will automatically play the English audio file instead of the intended Norwegian one. Therefore, to avoid such unintended replacements and ensure proper media playback, users should pay attention to providing unique names for each uploaded file.
- When uploading media files users need to pay attention to upload files with different names
- If users upload multiple files with the same name, the latest one will overwrite the previous one (Cloudinary)
- if user assigns media file to the selected point (e.g. audio file in Norwegian) and accidentally uploads new media file with the same name (e.g. audio file in English), that particular point will automatically play English audio file instead of the Norwegian one
